Greek Food & Wine Pairing Ideas To Order With Your Favorite BZ Grill Dishes
What wines and Greek food have in common? The History of Wine itself is very interesting. It is believed that wine was introduced in Greece around 4000 BC and there is evidence, found on artifacts, that it was known to the Minoan and Mycenaean civilizations.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_wine
Ancient Greeks considered that wine was a gift from the gods and worshiped Dionysus, a creature with the mind of man and the instincts of a beast, known as God of Wine.

Greek Wines & Your Favorite BZ Grill Dish
Stefanos Ziozis, Advisory Board for Wonderful Ethnic, talked to BZ Grill about Greek Wines, its history, how to conserve wine at home and also about Greek food and wine pairing with your favorite dishes on BZ Grill’s menu!
In the video below, Stefanos Ziozis introduces BZ Grill Blog’s readers to 3 different Greek Wines.
The first one is Megapanos Savatiano 2008, produced from selected grape of the ancient grape of Attica, Savatiano. We can say this wine has Pinot Grigio characteristics.
Haggipavlu Mantinia Moschofilero 2008, also a white, is the second one on the video. Suggested to fans of Chadonnay, this wine is a mix of wonderful aromas of exotic fruits, full bodied with lovely fruit and a long mineral, honey, fruit finish.
The third wine can be considered a very good introduction to the Greek wine market. The Red Silinos 2008 is produced from selected grape varieties and Agiorgtiko, Mavroudi, Mandilara, and from mild climate vineyards. If you enjoy food and wine pairing, the Red Silinos is perfect for grill, game, meat dishes with red sauces and spicy cheeses.

Who is Proteus the Greek God? And What Is A Proteus Spider Boat?
There is a new type of boat named after the Greek God Proteus it’s called the Proteus WAM-V Spider Boat. This article gives you info on both the Greek god and The Proteus WAM-V Spider Boat
Below is an image of the Greek God Proteus
Proteus the Greek God In Greek mythology, Proteus (Πρωτεύς) is an early sea-god, one of several deities whom Homer calls the “Old Man of the Sea”[1], whose name suggests the “first” (from Greek “πρῶτος” – protos, “first”), as protogonos (πρωτόγονος) is the “primordial” or the “firstborn”. He became the son of Poseidon in the Olympian theogony (Odyssey iv. 432), or of Nereus and Doris, or of Oceanus and a Naiad, and was made the herdsman of Poseidon’s seals, the great bull seal at the center of the harem
So what is The Proteus WAM-V Spider Boat? In the picture below you can see why the WAM-V Proteus Spider Boat is called the Proteus
But don’t take my word for it look for yourself in the video we posted below. This boat is one smooth ride and is a boat of the future who’s time has come.

Everyone who first moves to a new neighborhood does the same: you go on Google -or any search of your preferences- and type keywords such as “Delivery Food Astoria” just to check what you will have around as options.
The BZ Grill review below came from Yelp I just fond it 7/14/10 it matches the post here
Valerie V.’s Review Yelp 7/11/2010 http://www.yelp.com/biz/bz-grill-astoria#hrid:ONUOfmy2xygWPTPUZ8RTIA
Oh my god delicious. BZ Grill was the best part of my Sunday afternoon filled with apartment hunting and Ikea. After touring about 20 apartments in a building we weren’t interested in, we were frustrated and famished so I used my trusty Yelp app to find some good Greek eats and it did not fail. The space inside BZ Grill was small and filled with a few families with young kids. We both took about 5 minutes with the menu – it’s not extremely extensive, and ordered the Chicken Gyro and it was OFF THE CHAIN.
Packed with flavor and delicious, juicy chicken. Both dark and light meat but not fatty at all. Cool crisp veggies and delectable white sauce, I highly recommend ordering the chicken gyro. In addition to it’s yummyness, it’s large, filling and only $5.95.
Eat here! It’s delicious.
My post continued
If you have Greek Food as one of your favorites and you are moving to Astoria, you will find on BZ Grill a very consistent delivery service, where you can also order online, pay with credit or debit card and even include the tip if you are out of cash, and it will arrive at your home in less than 30 minutes! It really works!
BZ Grill shop, on Astoria Blvd., Queens
Besides that, especially during Spring and Summer time, a lot of cool people stop by for sangrias they can enjoy at our cozy shop, and maybe even sit outside.
If you are stopping by, you have to try the Grilled Haloumi Cheese. If you like pork we recommend the Pork Soulvaki Platter or the Pork Gyro; the Greek Burger is also really amazing, different than anything you have ever tried in a Pita Bread!

BZ Grill, in Astoria, serves the Best Chicken & Pork Gyros in New York
A Gyro is a traditional Greek dish, basically made of meat, tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce. Gyros might be served as a platter or as a sandwich, with pita bread.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyros
The meats used in a traditional gyro sandwich may be pork, chicken, beef or lamb. At BZ Grill we have the best pork and chicken Gyros in New York City, that we serve with lettuce, tomatoes, onions & pita bread. Our Tzatziki sauce is made of yogurt cucumber and garlic, and you can also add our special BZ Grill sauce.
How a Gyro is made?
The meat used in a Gyro has to stay marinaded over-nite. After that, it is layered into a conical shape and placed vertically on a spit rod for roasting. A original Greek Gyro recipe is made of pork meat or chicken.
